1. Introduction

This Delivery Policy explains how TAU FOODS LTD delivers products purchased through our website.

By placing an order, you agree to this Delivery Policy together with our Terms of Service and any other applicable policies published on our website.

2. Company Information

TAU FOODS LTD

Company Number: 17274450 Registered Office: 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX

3. Delivery Services and Delivery Area

TAU FOODS LTD offers two delivery services. The services available to a customer depend on the delivery address and on the products ordered.

Home delivery

Home delivery is available within our designated local delivery area, which covers addresses with postcodes RM17 5, RM17 6, RM16 2 and RM16 6, United Kingdom. This includes Grays town centre, Little Thurrock, Stifford Clays, Chafford Hundred and South Stifford.

Home delivery is available on orders of £50 or more and is provided free of charge. We do not currently offer home delivery for orders below this value.

Home delivery is the only service available for chilled and frozen products, as these products must remain temperature-controlled throughout the journey.

Home delivery is made on designated delivery days and within delivery time windows selected during checkout. Available days and time slots are shown during the ordering process.

Postal delivery

Postal delivery is available to addresses throughout the United Kingdom.

Postal delivery is free on orders of £50 or more. For orders below £50, a delivery charge of £9 applies.

Orders sent by postal delivery are normally delivered within 2 to 4 business days from the date of dispatch. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Parcels sent by postal delivery are handled by a third-party courier and are not temperature-controlled while in transit. Chilled and frozen products are therefore not available for postal delivery.

Where a customer orders other perishable products for postal delivery, taste, texture or quality may change during transit. Such orders are placed at the customer’s own risk, and TAU FOODS LTD cannot accept responsibility for the condition of those products on arrival. Customers wishing to purchase these products are advised to use home delivery instead. This does not affect any statutory rights available to consumers.

4. Delivery Availability

During checkout, customers will be informed which delivery services are available for their address and for the products in their basket.

Where a delivery address falls within our local delivery area, home delivery will be offered automatically, subject to the minimum order value set out in section 3.

Delivery services, delivery areas, charges and minimum order values may be expanded, reduced or otherwise amended from time to time. The most up-to-date delivery availability and charges will always be shown during the checkout process.

5. Delivery Schedule

TAU FOODS LTD does not currently offer deliveries every day.

Deliveries are made only on designated delivery days and during designated delivery time windows determined by our operational schedule.

Available delivery days and time slots are displayed during the ordering process and may change from time to time.

Customers may only select from the delivery options available at the time of placing their order.

6. Changes to Delivery Days

Delivery schedules may occasionally change due to:

  • public holidays;
  • severe weather;
  • road closures;
  • supplier delays;
  • staff availability;
  • vehicle breakdowns;
  • unusually high demand;
  • circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where reasonably possible, affected customers will be notified as soon as practicable.

7. Delivery Time Windows

Customers select a preferred delivery window during checkout where available.

Delivery times are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed.

TAU FOODS LTD will make reasonable efforts to deliver within the selected time window.

8. Minimum Order Requirements

TAU FOODS LTD may apply minimum order values for delivery.

Minimum order values, delivery charges and any applicable delivery promotions will be displayed on the website before checkout.

These may be amended from time to time.

9. Delivery Charges

Delivery charges depend on the delivery service selected and any promotional offers available at the time of ordering.

Delivery charges are displayed before payment is completed.

Membership customers may receive different delivery benefits where stated within the Membership Programme.

10. Delivery Address

Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address.

If incorrect information is supplied, delivery may be delayed, refused or require an additional delivery charge.

TAU FOODS LTD is not responsible for delays resulting from inaccurate delivery information provided by the customer.

11. Receiving the Delivery

An adult should normally be present to receive the delivery.

Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery.

Any shortages, incorrect items or damaged products should be reported promptly.

12. Chilled and Frozen Products

We take reasonable care to maintain appropriate handling conditions for chilled and frozen products during preparation and delivery.

Customers should refrigerate or freeze products immediately after receipt in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

TAU FOODS LTD cannot accept responsibility for deterioration caused by improper storage after delivery.

13. Alcohol Deliveries

Alcohol deliveries are subject to applicable licensing laws.

Customers purchasing alcohol must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • satisfy any age verification requirements;
  • comply with our Challenge 25 Policy.

If satisfactory proof of age cannot be provided where requested, alcohol will not be supplied.

14. Failed Deliveries

A delivery may be unsuccessful where:

  • nobody is available to receive the order;
  • access to the property is not possible;
  • age verification cannot be completed;
  • delivery cannot be completed safely.

In these circumstances, TAU FOODS LTD may:

  • rearrange delivery;
  • charge an additional delivery fee where appropriate;
  • cancel the order where permitted by law.

15. Safe Place Deliveries

If a customer requests delivery to a nominated safe place, TAU FOODS LTD will make reasonable efforts to follow those instructions.

Once products have been left at the agreed safe place, responsibility for loss, theft or damage passes to the customer, except where prohibited by law.

Alcoholic beverages and other age-restricted products will never be left unattended.

16. Delivery Delays

Although we always aim to deliver on time, delays may occasionally occur.

TAU FOODS LTD shall not be liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Where a significant delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed.

17. Changes to this Delivery Policy

TAU FOODS LTD may amend this Delivery Policy from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our website.

19. Delivery Route Planning

To provide an efficient and reliable delivery service, TAU FOODS LTD operates scheduled delivery routes.

Orders are grouped according to geographical location and planned delivery routes.

For this reason, customers may only select the delivery days and delivery time windows available for their postcode at the time of placing an order.

Not every delivery day or time slot will be available for every address.

TAU FOODS LTD reserves the right to organise delivery routes in the manner that best supports operational efficiency while continuing to provide a reliable service to customers.

20. Delivery Time Windows

Delivery time windows are provided to help customers estimate when their order is expected to arrive.

Delivery windows are estimates rather than guaranteed appointment times.

Factors such as traffic conditions, weather, road works, customer delays and unforeseen operational issues may affect arrival times.

Customers should ensure that someone is available throughout the selected delivery window.

21. Order Cut-Off Times

Orders must be placed before the applicable cut-off time shown during checkout in order to be considered for the next available delivery route.

Orders placed after the published cut-off time may automatically be allocated to the following available delivery day.

Cut-off times may vary depending on:

  • delivery location;
  • delivery schedule;
  • seasonal demand;
  • public holidays;
  • operational requirements.

TAU FOODS LTD may amend cut-off times from time to time.

22. Route Changes

From time to time, TAU FOODS LTD may adjust delivery routes, delivery days or delivery schedules in order to improve efficiency, respond to customer demand or address operational requirements.

Where a change affects an existing confirmed order, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable.

23. Delivery Capacity

Delivery capacity is limited.

During busy periods, available delivery slots may become fully booked.

TAU FOODS LTD cannot guarantee the availability of any particular delivery day or time until an order has been accepted and confirmed.

We recommend placing orders as early as possible, particularly during weekends, public holidays and seasonal periods.

24. Customer Availability

Customers are responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive the order during the selected delivery window.

If the customer knows they will be unavailable, they should contact TAU FOODS LTD as soon as possible to discuss alternative arrangements, where available.

Alternative delivery arrangements are provided at our discretion and may not always be possible.

25. Delivery Attempts

TAU FOODS LTD will normally make one delivery attempt for each scheduled delivery.

If delivery cannot be completed because:

  • the customer is unavailable;
  • access to the property is not possible;
  • delivery instructions cannot safely be followed; or
  • legal age verification cannot be completed,

we may:

  • return the order;
  • offer a new delivery date where operationally possible;
  • apply an additional delivery charge for a further delivery attempt;
  • cancel the order where appropriate and permitted by law.

Perishable products may not be suitable for redelivery due to food safety requirements.

26. Delivery Notifications

Where available, TAU FOODS LTD may provide delivery notifications by email, SMS or other electronic communication.

Such notifications are provided for convenience only.

Failure to receive a notification does not affect the customer’s responsibility to be available during the selected delivery window.

27. Service Interruptions

TAU FOODS LTD may temporarily suspend delivery services due to:

  • extreme weather conditions;
  • government restrictions;
  • public emergencies;
  • serious vehicle failures;
  • supplier disruptions;
  • staff shortages;
  • circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where practical, affected customers will be offered the next available delivery slot or another suitable solution.

28. Future Expansion

TAU FOODS LTD may extend, reduce or otherwise modify its delivery area and delivery schedule at any time.

Changes to delivery coverage will be published on our website and will apply to future orders.

Existing confirmed orders will not normally be affected unless circumstances beyond our reasonable control require otherwise.
